Reba Place

Remake was approached to convert this property, which had been abandoned and left derelict for over a decade, into a 5-bed / 3-bath single-family home.

Wishing to rejuvenate this South Evanston neighborhood, the client had placed the property under contract and was financially incentivized to reduce as much as possible the time between the closing date and their ability to occupy the home. Given this tight timeframe, Remake worked diligently with the client and their general contractor to not only develop a design within a strict budget, but also to expedite the drawings so the client could submit for a building permit prior to their closing date.

The home provides generously sized bedrooms and living areas, while significantly improving energy efficiency through a tight, well-insulated building envelope. The rear porch was strengthened, insulated, and reclad. Windows and exterior doors throughout the home were replaced.
