Sylvia Wooller
Architect + Director
Sylvia is Founder and Director of Remake Architecture. Since its inception in 2010, Sylvia has lead the execution of projects, predominantly in Chicago's Northshore, ranging from historic renovations, additions and new construction. With over 25 years of experience working in high-end, sustainably-driven architectural practices in Chicago, New York and London, Sylvia understands the diverse interests of clients from both the perspective of an owner and investor.
Prior to founding Remake Architecture, Sylvia was a lead designer and environmental architect at BDP in London, and FXCollaborative and Rafael Vinoly in New York. During this time Sylvia was responsible for leading a range of projects, including commercial, retail, hospitality, multi-family and single-family residential.
Sylvia is a licensed architect in both Illinois and Wisconsin. She received a Master of Science in Architecture (Advanced Environmental & Energy Studies) at the Wales Center for Alternative Technology, and a Bachelor and Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Sylvia spent a year at the Ecole d’Architecture de Versailles, France and was awarded the Francis J. Plym Traveling Fellowship for a four-month independent research of sustainable architecture in Europe, where she interviewed leading architects, researchers and educators.
Kirk Wooller
Project Manager
Kirk is involved through the planning and execution of projects at Remake Architecture. With decades of experience as an architect and construction project manager, Kirk draws on this expertise to maximize the success of each project.
Kirk has managed and supervised $80M+ of construction across a range of residential, commercial and retail projects, benefiting his clients through a focused, analytical and adaptable approach to project management.
Kirk has a PhD in Architecture from the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London and an M.Arch and B.Arch from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He has taught design, architectural theory and culture at the School of Architecture and the Honors College at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and in schools of architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Architectural Association, and University of Brighton. Kirk has worked in architecture offices in New York, London and Auckland, playing key roles in a number of award-winning projects.
